Chloe Reads!

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you can see Chloe reading Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See? She is NOT picking her nose while 'reading' just scratching! She reads the book sooo much that when our librarian at school tried to speed things up by skipping a few key words, Chloe corrected her. I was told that she was very polite while doing so. You will probably have to turn off the music at the bottom before starting the video. Enjoy!

Trick or Treat!

And the winner of 'The What Do I Wear for Halloween' Contest was the Cheerleading outfit! Thank you to Bailey for letting Chloe borrow a 'real' cheerleading dress! What about the pose? Think she is ready for the sidelines?

Herding Cats?

Have you EVER tried to sit 3 cats in one spot, tell them not to move, then yell 'RUN'? Well, that is kind of like the way 4 year olds play soccer! Chloe had her very first soccer game today. What fun! [At least for those of us only watching.] The coach would put the 3 players on the line, tell them not to move then as soon as the other team kicked the ball, he yelled 'RUN'. Well, they were still on the 'not move' command. When they did run, it was to no place in particular. Sometimes it was actually toward the ball, but sometimes it was toward mom with the Gator-aid or to give Gram a hug or the dog with the pink dress and the pink bow in its hair. Just like in our days of watching the boys play T-Ball, there are teams that play to win and teams that play 'for fun'. There are the players and their parents that keep up with every goal they make and the players that smile when they run and just look cute going after the ball. In my 'wiser' stage I love the smiles. I think stopping in the middle of the game to wave at GaGa and hug Gram is cute. I think playing for fun is wonderful! Grant got his first taste as a Soccer dad today when he was asked to keep control on the bench. He came up to his dad after the game and said, 'God Bless you for doing that when we were little.' Gil is still smiling:)
And by the way... Chloe did kick the ball into the net!

Ava is One Week Old!!

I spent the afternoon with Anna and Ava! What fun to hold a new baby, especially one that is so cuddly. Chloe came by and wanted to hold the baby. How sweet is this! Just thinking out loud... I think she would be a wonderful big sister!

How about this picture of all 3 girls! Chloe, Audrey, and Ava! May they always be this sweet.

The Mink!

I'll start by saying that I love, love, love having Chloe at my school. Such a big girl walking down the hall, with hand on hip and finger on lip! You should see her. She has survived the days without the mink [all 3 of them.] I really just wanted to post this picture so you could actually see how much she loves the mink! She is so cute when she comes to my room in the afternoons and goes to the cabinet and takes a little sniff of her mink! But, she doesn't want my boys and girls to see her do it. Bless her!

First Day of Pre-K! Woo-Hoo!

I am sure that in history there have been other children start to Pre-K, but not here in Chloe's World. She was the first! After discovering that the 'mink' was not invited there were thoughts that Chloe might not attend. After all, when have you EVER seen Chloe without the 'mink'? When have you EVER seen Chloe in a reclining position without the 'mink' right at her nose? NEVER!!! There was a lot of anxious moments leading up to the first all-day visit which was today, August 14, 2008. Chloe and 4 of her other classmates met for a full day of school. But just a few hours earlier we had gathered at the Penne Pasta Store [known to some as Old Town Spaghetti Store] to try and calm 'her' nerves. See how cute she looks before leaving...

Chloe opened a big old Princess bag with a leopard print backpack and a lunchbox. See how much she loves them!

The morning of the BIG DAY dawns... Chloe dresses in one of her school clothes outfits and grabs her leopard print backpack! How cute is she!

And then, the trip to school. Look who's a happy girl, eating her breakfast and getting her picture made with her teacher...

And then, pictures with Mommy so she could go to work... Mommy's smiling in the picture... but guess how big that lump in her throat is??? Guess how much Mommy wants to make sure that today is just perfect even if the 'mink' is classrooms away in GaGa's cabinet?

Would you like to guess who had a great day at Pre-K??? And, who slept on her mat without the 'mink'? I knew she could do it! I was never worried at all!

Happy Birthday, Audrey!

Well, it is a few days early but so was the party. How fun!! Audrey had a petting zoo at her party. There was a mommy, daddy, and baby goat, a calf, baby ducks, baby chicks, a pig that liked to dig in the grass, bunny rabbits, a big turtle and 2 ponies to ride. It was so much fun. Audrey got lots of presents and Chloe even helped to unwrap them. Talk about hot!!! Whew, it was hot!

AND, I almost forget --- A shot of the BIRTHDAY GIRL!!! --- Rock on, Audrey!!!

A Week of Recovery

I had always heard that children recover more quickly from having their tonsils out than adults. While that might be true, it is nonetheless a painful recovery. Chloe had been at GaGa's all week. Monday was a horrible day! We both cried, her in pain, me because she was in pain. We did have a few good moments during the day and were able to color for just a short while.

Tuesday was better and we were able to make a quick trip to Wal-Mart to pick up glasses for GaGa! Since McDonald's was so close we stopped by to have lunch. She ate 3 of her nuggets, most of her fries and drank her sweet tea. What a difference 24 hours can make.

By Wednesday afternoon Chloe was ready to swing and play with PePaw. She picked the Tiger Lillies so that they could play 'Bride'. Then she picked some more so that they could say 'Loves me, Loves me Not'. Funny little girl! So very glad that she is feeling better.

Bye, Bye Tonsils

Chloe entered the surgery center this morning to get rid of those pesky tonsils and adenoids. What a smile!

Who else looks this good in a hospital gown???

12 minutes later - No tonsils and that pretty smile is back. What a Princess!

Now, what flavor of milkshake would you like, ma'am????
